This policy describes how the PenWeb extension handles your information. In one sentence: we do not collect, store or transmit any of your personal data.
PenWeb does not collect:
Everything you draw, highlight or annotate is processed and stored locally in your own browser, using the device's local storage (localStorage). Nothing is sent to our servers or to third parties. If you clear your browser data, those local annotations are erased with it.
When you use the save/export feature, PenWeb captures only the currently visible tab, only upon your click, and generates a local image for download. That image is never sent to any server.
None of these permissions is used to collect or transmit data to our servers.
AI features (explain highlights, flashcards, page summary and mind map) are optional and only work if you paste your own API key for the provider chosen in the panel (Google Gemini or Groq). The key is stored only in your browser. When you use an AI feature, the needed text (highlight and/or page excerpt) is sent directly from your browser to the chosen provider's API under that provider's privacy policy — no PenWeb server is involved and nothing is sent without your click.
This website may show product recommendations with affiliate links (e.g., Mercado Livre). If you click and buy, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. These links are labeled and do not involve any personal data collection on our side.
